From Chandigarh to Miss Universe 2021 – Incredible Journey of Harnaaz Sandhu

The internet and social media went on sensation as soon as they heard the news of Harnaz Sandhu winning the miss universe title and bringing the trophy to India after 21 years.

While we all were being cozy in our beds on cold mornings of December, the girl represented our nation at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in 2021 held in Israel. Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu is an Indian actress and model. The breath-holding moment was the winner deciding moment. Everyone had great hopes and when the name of Harnaz Sandhu was announced, she was all tears in enjoy. She couldn’t believe for a moment that she is the one who’ll be taking the trophy home this year.

Here’s all you need to know about our new miss universe 2021.

1. Family background of Harnaz Kaur Sandhu

Harnaz Kaur Sandhu was born on 3 march 2ooo. She was born in Chandigarh, Punjab into a middle-class family. Her family includes 4 members and a furry dog, named Roger. Her father, PS Sandhu, was extremely happy, and her mother, Ravinder, who is a medical officer was feeling proud too. Harnaz Kaur have one elder brother who is seven years old than her. Her dog is roger and she loves pets.

 

2. Winner of 70th edition of Miss Universe Pageant 2021

The event was hosted in Israel. “The night before the final day was very full of excitement and nervousness”, says Harnoor, brother of Harnaz Kaur Sandhu. They couldn’t sleep out of excitement and knew that Harnaz will make the family proud.

3. Awaiting warm Punjabi welcome

PS Sandhu, the father of Harnaz, was very happy and emotional. In an exclusive interview, he said that Harnaz made the whole family proud and that what more could they ask for from almighty. He further added that once she returns from Israel, she will be welcomed in traditional Punjabi style with bhangra and gidda. Her family was very happy and proud.

4. Harnaz loves makke-di-roti and  sarso-da-saag

Ravinder Kaur, mother of harnaaz, reveals that harnaaz loves Makke di roti and Sarso da saag. After she’ll return, she will be treated with her favorite Punjabi dish. “Like a typical Punjabi family, everyone loved eating butter and ghee but Harnaaz avoided eating oily food and always preferred fruits and salads”, adds her brother.

5. Among the top 3 contestants

Harnaaz was among the top 3 final contestants. The other two contestants were Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane. The final question was answered beautifully by Harnaaz which made her Miss Universe 2021. The first runner-up was, Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreria, and the second runner-up was South Africa’s Lalela Mswane.

6. Attracted to glamour industry and Early achievements

The glamour industry attracted Harnaz since childhood and she always wanted to step up in this field. She won many titles at her college fests and other events. Some of her achievements are:-

Other than this, she was Miss freshers, Miss beauty, and Charming face during her school day farewell and teacher’s day events.

7. Harnaz share great love for pets

Harnaz Sandhu’s hobbies include cooking, traveling, and dancing. She is also a pet lover and has furry friends, named Roger. She plays with her dog every time and totally loves it.

8. Energetic and Naughty Kid

Harnaaz Sandhu has been an energetic and fun-loving kid since childhood. She use to play with his brother and cousins and was the lifeline of all the fun-going activities. Being the only girl child amongst the whole clan, she’s given ample love and care and was everyone’s apple of the eye.

9. Only girl in the clan!

Harnoor tells that their father was 17 brothers and Harnaaz is the only girl child in their whole clan. She was always pampered and taken good care of. She was never pressurised to do anything out of her choice or without her will. She was given the freedom to follow her passion and her family had faith in her that she’ll always do her best in her life. The glowing faces of family members were speaking for themselves that they were very proud of her achievement.

10. Early schooling

Harnaz Kaur Sandhu completed her schooling in Chandigarh and is currently pursuing master’s in public administration. Her schooling details are:-

College- College For Girls, Chandigarh
Education Qualification- Bachelor Of Information Technology

10. The final question and impressive answer

The great achievement of miss universe just at the age of 21 years is a great victory for her. The winning question was beautifully answered by her which made her the winner. The question was, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?”, to which she gave an impressive answer. Her answer was, “Well, I think the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful, stop comparing yourselves with others, and let’s talk about more important things that’s happening worldwide. I think this is what you need to understand. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own [life]. I believe in myself and that’s why I’m standing here today. Thank you.”

It is a great moment of pride for India because India won this title after 21 years. The last winner of Miss Universe from India was Lara Dutta in the year 2000. Sushmita sen and Lara Dutta congratulated Harnaz Sandhu with a warm greeting on social media posts.

We are so proud of Harnaz Sandhu to lift the crown once again for India. May she touch the scale of success.
