Cloves:
Cloves have antimicrobial, antiviral and antiseptic properties naturally. Cloves are high in antioxidants and can kill bacteria.
Neem Oil:
In ayurvedic system, neem is called “Medicine Chest” as it has more antiseptic, antibacterial and antibiotic properties. It also helps to fight against bacteria and germs that are settled in the skin.
Rubbing Alcohol:
Rubbing alcohol is the main ingredient to make this homemade sanitizer. A sanitizer contains about 70% of rubbing alcohol in it. Rubbing alcohol or Isopropyl alcohol kills the growth of bacteria and helps to prevent the bacterial infections.
Vegetable Glycerine:
Vegetable glycerine is nothing but a odourless and sweet tasting liquid derived from vegetable fats. It helps to moisturize and resilient the skin and also improves hydration. It is also known as humectants. We all know that rubbing alcohol can easily be hydrated and dried the moment we apply. So to avoid the solution being hydrated, vegetable glycerine is used to compensate the alcohol as it has dehydrating properties. How To Make A Sanitizer At Home?
To make a sanitizer, take a spray bottle if you have and pour 50ml of rubbing alcohol first into it. Then take half tablespoon of cloves or six cloves and smash it well and add the smashed cloves into the spray bottle. Further, add 8 drops of neem oil with 4 to 5 drops of observer serum which is a sweet almond in winter serum.
The observer serum is used to cover the smell bitter smell of neem oil which is not liked by many people. And finally, add one teaspoon of vegetable glycerine and close the lid of the bottle. Now shake the solution and mix everything very thoroughly. Now leave the solution overnight. Leaving the ingredients overnight will help the ingredients to settle well and will become an effective alcohol tincture. So the longer you keep the solution, the more effective it will be.
Then strain the solution before it’s ready to be used, otherwise, the spray misters will be clogged up due to the added solid ingredients. Finally, strain out all of the flow to have your disinfectant sanitizer at your home.
