Cannes – now in its 75th year – has always been a magnet for fairy tale fashion moments. A-list stars travel from around the world to climb the event’s signature red steps, decked out in their finest suits and gowns, custom-made, haute couture, or runway.
This year Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is one of the jury members at the Cannes Film Festival. For the opening ceremony, the gorgeous diva opted for Sabyasachi’s never-seen-before outfits and high-end jewelry. On the red carpet, Deepika wore a sequin golden-black striped 6-yard-garment that represented the Indian Bengal tiger. We can see the royal elegance in her outfit.

Deepika is at the forefront and so did the 36-year-old in majestic statement jewelry like a headband with rings stacked with Art Nouveau detailing, and chandelier earrings that sang on an Art Deco gaze.
Styled by Shaleena Nathani, it is from the Akash Tara collection that appreciates and waxes poetic about heritage Indian crafts and techniques. The sequins are placed beautifully in the striped pattern in such a royal way that there is no answer. All the work on the saree was block printed and hand embroidered and is done by some of the finest craftsmen in India. This medley of gold and black came together and complimented her look with a strapless blouse.
