Everybody, both men and women dream of glowing skin. One of the spices which makes it possible is turmeric ( Haldi). We get turmeric from the turmeric plant of the ginger family. The presence of curcumin, one of the constituents of turmeric makes it suitable for cosmetic and medicinal purposes.
For thousands of years, turmeric has been used in the Indian subcontinent for various purposes. Its bright vibrant color and some preservative properties make it possible to use it in culinary for many years.
There are quite a lot of benefits of turmeric but particularly for skin following are the benefits:
- It’s anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties help to get rid of redness from blemishes.
- Its antimicrobial properties help in the reduction of acne and pimples
- It improves skin texture. haldi acts as a skin exfoliator
- It soothes dry skin and also removes dark circles
Homemade Haldi Face Packs
1. Turmeric + Lemon + Sandalwood Powder/ Multani Mitti
- Take a bowl and squeeze one lemon and to it add half a tablespoon of turmeric and one tablespoon of sandalwood powder. if you don’t have sandalwood powder you can add Multani mitti
- Apply on your face till it dries
- Then wash it off with cool water or normal water
This face pack is good in the removal of facial scars or marks. But as this is a strong paste make sure to apply on a small patch before applying on the whole face
2. Turmeric + Honey + Curd + Milk
- Take a bowl and take the following into it: a pinch of turmeric, half a tablespoon of honey, one spoon of curd, one spoon of milk
- Mix all the ingredients properly
- Use a brush to apply it on your face
- And wait for like 10-15 minutes
- Then rinse it off with cool water or normal water and use no soap
This face pack helps to enhance the brightness of normal or combination skin types. Use this face pack once in a week preferably.
3. Turmeric + Curd + Besan ( Chickpea Flour) + Milk
- Take a bowl to add a pinch of turmeric, two tablespoons of curd and a tablespoon of besan to it
- Mix all the ingredients properly
- Use a brush or using fingers apply onto your face
- Rinse it off after 15 minutes by cool water or normal water and don’t use soap
But before applying this pack the following can be done:
STEP 1. Face Cleansing – Milk + Haldi + Honey
- Take a bowl and add into 3 tablespoons of milk, a pinch of Haldi, one tablespoon of honey
- Mix all of them and using cotton ball clean your whole face
- Then wash it off with cool water or normal water
- This helps in deep cleansing of your skin thereby bringing brightness and glow
STEP 2. Face Scrubbing – Crushed Sugar + Haldi + Coconut Oil
- Take a bowl and put in it 3 tablespoons of crushed sugar, a pinch of Haldi, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- After mixing all of them using your fingers scrub your face slowly for around 2-3 minutes
- This scrub helps in removing dead cells, scars and helps in the reduction of pigmentation
- Then wash it off with cool water or normal water
STEP 3. Face Massage – Aloe Vera Gel + Haldi + Vitamin E Capsules
- Take a bowl and in it put 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, a pinch of Haldi, and 2 vitamin E capsules
- Mix them properly
- Then using your fingers massage this paste on your face in clockwise or anti-clockwise for around 10 – 15 minutes
- This massage helps in lightening of your skin color
As STEP 4, apply the above-mentioned face pack. if you follow these steps it is highly beneficial. And this face pack is mostly recommended by many.
This face pack is used for acne skin and this face pack enhances brightness by helping to bring a natural glow to your skin.
4. Aloe Vera Gel + Turmeric + Olive Oil
- Take a bowl to it add 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, one tablespoon of turmeric and a tablespoon of olive oil
- Mix them properly
- Before applying this mixture clean your face with mild soap and then apply it with a brush
- Put it on for around 20 minutes
- Then rinse it off with cool water or normal water
This mask helps to get clear, bright, and acne-free skin. Use it once in a week for better results. It helps in promoting clearer and radiant skin.
5. Turmeric + Bentonite Clay + Activated Charcoal + Rose Water/ Apple Cider Vinegar
- Take a bowl take 4 teaspoons of bentonite clay and to it add one teaspoon of activated charcoal, one teaspoon of turmeric
- Mix all the ingredients and you will get a powdered form
- To it add 2/3 tablespoons of rose water or apple cider vinegar
- Apply this paste on the wet face using a brush or using your fingers
- Then rinse it off with warm water
Although the about mentioned ingredients may not be available in your kitchen but these ingredients worth it. Make sure to try this face pack for at least once and see the difference by yourself. This face pack helps to draw out impurities and helps in purifying the skin. apply it once in a week for best results
6. Ghee + Turmeric
- Take a bowl and take 4 teaspoons of ghee and to it add one teaspoon of turmeric
- Whip the mixture till it gets proper smooth and softer consistency
- Apply it on your face, lips and your neck
- You can put till overnight or for 3o minutes
- Then rinse it off using warm water
This face pack moisturizes, hydrates, and softens the skin. Use twice or thrice a month.
7. Haldi + Tomato Juice + Lemon Juice
- Take a bowl and in it add a pinch of Haldi, squeeze half medium-sized tomato and squeeze half, medium-sized lemon
- Mix all of them and using brush or fingers to apply the face pack
- And let it put to dry and rinse it off with cool water or normal water
Tomato used help in the removal of dead cells, and have a soothing effect on your skin. The lemon used helps in healing Acne and removal of blackheads. Lemon also helps in Lighten Dark Spots and Blemishes.
Apply this pack for once in a week for better results.
NOTE: Make sure to apply these face packs like a small patch on your hand and then if you feel alright, apply onto your whole face
