Who doesn’t want long, bouncy, shiny, and healthy hair? But the lifestyle we are living is definitely affecting the growth of our hair. The pollution, sunburns, and some of the tools we use to design our hair lead to heat damage. We use tools to give new shape to our hair but the heat dries out hair and also changes the structure of our hair protein. We don’t give our full attention to our hair as we use to give to other things. Oiling and shampooing in the right way is necessary to be done otherwise our hair will be more damaged as time will pass. Hair cutting is the easiest step to come out of this problem and most people also choose this. But there are still some ways that can help you to repair your hair and get that shine and strength once again.
How can you notice heat-damaged hair?
There are some signs of heat-damaged hair are mentioned below, read then notice:-
- If you have more split ends than normal or ends of your hair are damaged.
- Rough or dry hair
- If you find white nodules at the end of your hair.
- If you find your hair breaks easily from the middle.
If you also have these signs then you have heat-damaged hair and you should take good steps to take care of them otherwise they get more damaged.
Treatment of Heat damaged hair
Your hair type does not matter too much because heat damage results are the same for both hair types Straight as well as curled and they both need to be treated well. In this modern era, we have totally forgotten the old routine that we were used to following in our childhood. Some works, our mothers always forced us to do that time, like oiling, shampooing, massaging, etc, on time.
We can easily make any design in straight or curly hair to make them more attractive but the equipment you used to make it, may kill your hair’s moisture and make your scalp flaky and dry. Because of heat damage straight hair becomes dry, dull, frizzy, split-ended, and lackluster. You may know, how to treat your dry and dull hair to make them glossy and healthy again but people get frustrated when it comes to handling split ends which is one of the main results of heat damage.
You can get your healthy and flawless hair back with some tips. There are some works that are necessary to be done, they just do not cure the damage but also prevent more hair damage to happen.
Oiling
We have replaced it with products like some oil replacements. Because of busy schedules or fashionable lifestyles, we don’t do oiling often which is not good for our hair. Oiling can help you to prevent hair fall and split ends. Oiling is the best way for your hair moisturized and healthy. It goes into the roots of the hair and made them strong. While oiling also nourishes the scalp of the head and works on your every hair to make it thick. But in case of heat damage, you need to choose some good quality oils like Olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil or tea tree oil will be the preferred choice for it. Don’t forget to massage your scalp while oiling. Massage the oil properly from root to end, you can also warm it a little for better results. Somehow, it also helps full to make you feel relaxed. So, try it and yes make it a part of your daily routine.
Do Shampoo often
This thing is not something about which we have to suggest to you because it is already a part of the routine for each of us. But still, we are telling you something to follow when you shop for your shampoo. Shampoo is used to clean sebum and dirt from the scalp and make your hair frizz-free and manageable. Go for the shampoo which suits you and definitely, not being harsh or makes your hair rougher. Most importantly, also look for sulfate-free shampoos.
Switch to trimming
Well, trimming is important for brittle hair. Trimming does not mean you have to have to cut your hair length significantly, but it means you just need to get your hair trimmed so that you can get rid of damaged ends for a fresh and healthy look. Split ends are so common nowadays, they may happen without even heat damage, so trimming will help you with that.
Try some home remedies
You can heal your heat-damaged hair with the help of some remedies too, want to know how? Let’s see
First Remedy:-
- Gently massage your hair and scalp with warm olive oil for 5 minutes.
- Cover with a warm towel and leave it on for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Finally, shampoo and condition your hair.
- Follow this remedy at least once a week.
Second Remedy:-
- Mix the pulp of 1 ripe avocado and 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil in a blender.
- Apply it to your hair, leave it on for about 1 hour, and then wash it out.
Third Remedy:-
- Massage 1 whisked egg on your scalp and hair for a few minutes.
- Cover with a shower cap and leave it on for 20 minutes.
- Rinse with cool water and shampoo as usual.
Have healthy diet
Do you know that your diet is an essential factor as well for your skin as well as your hair health? So, if you want good hair then start paying attention to your diet. Start having healthy food and stop eating junk food. Knowingly or unknowingly, we gave some toxic elements to our bodies. So, it is now the time of being healthy. Start including some healthy eatables in your diet like fruits, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and food fulfill of proteins, minerals, and vitamins. It is not just about your hair or skin but it is also essential for your health. Well, for hair growth feed yourself with vitamin E.
Prevention is required
You know very well that prevention is much better than cure. It saves you to face such problems. So, what precautions do you have to do?
- Whenever you go out don’t leave your hair open, also avoid making tight ponytails. You can go for plaits or you can also cover your hair with any cloth.
- Try to minimize the use of a blow dryer or keep it away 5 to 7 inches from your hair while using it. If you have time then let your hair to be dry naturally by air.
- Use a little towel to wrap around your hair and it will help you to absorb excess water. Make sure not to tie them too tight so that they may not hurt your hair.
- Use any kind of liquid or cream which can protect your hair from getting damaged before using hot styling tools.
